This standard specifies the method of measuring the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC) emitted from the materials of car parts in order to facilitate the studies in the reduction of in-occupant-room VOCs including formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene, styrene and p-dichlorobenzene among the substances which are listed in the guideline specified by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the air contamination in rooms. This standard mainly covers the sample preparation and VOC collection procedures.
